Breastfeeding gives moms and babies many health benefits yet many moms worry that going back to work will make it hard to breastfeed. Mothers also worry about breastfeeding options at their children's child care center. Enabling mothers to continue breastfeeding can be a real blessing to both moms and babies. That's why we are proud to be officially certified by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services as a "Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care."
Becoming a Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care is a voluntary recognition program available to Missouri child care facilities. We are the only such day care in Carrollton awarded this status.
Requirements for a Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Facility:
- Provides a welcoming environment for breastfeeding families.
- Has a written policy that reflects their support of breastfeeding.
- Offers breastfeeding resources to parents.
- Trains staff to support breastfeeding parents.
- Feeds infants on demand and communicates with moms about feeding preferences.
In addition to those five key points, we have also established a safe, private nursing area for those who wish to use it.
